Jack McGeorge Living Leadership Scholarship
The Leather Leadership Conference was honored to be able to award the first Living Leadership Scholarship named for Jack McGeorge, recognizing students for their achievements in academics, leadership, and service to their community in Philadelphia in April of 2014. We thank the community for its support as LLC has been able to expand and continue the scholarship program through the generosity of our community.
QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
● Current student enrolled in Fall, Spring, or Summer classes of the award year.
● Exemplify the ideals of scholastic academia, leadership, and service
● All applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Your application packet should include the following:
● LLC online scholarship application
● Submission Essay 500 to 1000 words max. Describe your personal and professional goals and how those goals will be used to improve the overall Leather, BDSM, Fetish, and Kink communities across local and global levels. The essay may include information such as your reasons for pursuing your area of study, service related activities, employment experience, and/or accomplishments not otherwise noted on this application.
● A list of scholastic honors, awards, & extracurricular activities (campus & community), including offices held.
● A letter from your academic program adviser or registrar's office verifying enrollment.
● Bursar office info must be included - School name, student ID number, and school mailing address.
RECIPIENT(S) WILL RECEIVE:
● Scholarship Award Funds, which will be sent directly to the School Bursar's Office to be applied to their student account.
● Scholarship Recipient(s) will receive a Special Guest Registration Package +1 Guess Pass to attend the full LLC Conference Weekend. (Recipients and their +1 Guest must register in advance to attend the conference)
● One Friday Night Room Accommodation at the host hotel to attend the LLC Opening Ceremonies.
AVAILALBLE SCHOLARSHIPS:
Graduate Level Scholarship - $2000
Applied to graduate level degrees (Masters or Doctoral) at an accredited university
Undergraduate Level Scholarship - $2000
Applied to Undergraduate level degrees at an accredited university
Diploma or Associate Level Scholarship -$1000
Applied to Diploma or Associate degree level programs at an accredited university or technical school
Scholarship Recipients shall be notified via email
Recipients will be formally awarded and acknowledged during the Leather Leadership Conference
Scholarship Awards may only be applied to accredited technical schools and universities.
LLC Grant
LLC is proud to announce the limited availability of grants for current and potential leaders in the kink and alternative communities to attend our conference at minimal cost.
The grant recipient program was designed to introduce first-time attendees of our conference to the wealth of opportunities LLC offers. If you need assistance with attending the conference, please apply to become a grant recipient. We look forward to seeing you at our next conference!
Grant applicants will be notified via email.
Grant recipients are expected to
Attend Grant Recipient Reception
Attend a minimum of five(5) classes
Post to social media that you are attending Leather Leadership Conference
Post thoughts about LLC to social media during and after the event
Grant Award Package
Grant recipients will receive the following:
Waived Registration fee for the LLC Conference
Registration is required. A code will be provided to reduce registration cost to $0.
One night at the hotel venue
Grant recipient is responsible for any incidentals per the hotel's policy
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, you must:
Be 18 years or older
Be involved in leadership or support of a group and/or organization
Be a first time attendee of LLC
Awards
LLC Servant Leadership Award
The LLC Servant Leadership (SL) Award recognizes individuals who have provided leadership through service to the greater Leather and kink communities. The SL Award provides the opportunity for LLC to recognize those who best exemplify the qualities of service and positive community and cultural influence.
Servant leaders are a vital part of the greater leather and kink communities; they serve without any compensation and often go unnoticed. This award seeks to change that by bringing recognition to the achievements made so that others may become inspired to continue to make positive change in their own communities. This is one small part the LLC may play to allow us all to understand servant leadership as an essence to which we may all aspire.
The Leather Leadership Conference is always seeking input for this award. If you or someone you know has an idea of any individual or entity deserving of such recognition, please submit an application by filling out as detailed information as possible so that we may make an appropriate determination.
Servant Leadership Award winners will be announced during Opening Ceremonies.
LLC Living Leadership Award
The LLC Living Leadership (LL) Award recognizes groups, organizations, companies, and individuals who have been an exemplar of leadership and fortitude within the greater kink community. The LL Award provides the opportunity for LLC, to assist in recognizing those who best exemplify and extol the qualities of equality, positive community and cultural influence, superior foresight in stance, and/or has endured ignominy because of their support for our community.
People and groups, both large and small, have their influence and effect on our lives go unnoticed. This award seeks to change that by bringing recognition to the achievements made so that others may become inspired to continue to make positive change in their own communities. This is one humble and small part the LLC may play in elevating our leaders.
