LLC was honored to award the first scholarship in April of 2014 recognizing students for their achievements in academics, leadership, and service to their community in Philadelphia. We thank the community for its support as LLC has been able to expand and continue the scholarship program through the generosity of our community.

Scholarship Awards Available:

• Graduate Level Scholarship - $2000.  Enrolled in a post-graduate program (Masters or Doctoral) at an accredited university. 

• Undergraduate Level Scholarship - $2000. Enrolled in an undergraduate level program at an accredited university.

• Diploma or Associate Level Scholarship -$1000. Enrolled in a Diploma or Associate degree level program at an accredited university or technical school. 

SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  October 1st, 2025

• Scholarship Recipients shall be notified via email.

• Recipients will be formally awarded and acknowledged during the Leather Leadership Conference.

• Scholarship Awards may only be applied to accredited technical schools and universities. 

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

• Current student enrolled in Fall, Spring, or Summer classes of the award year.

• Exemplify the ideals of scholastic academia, leadership, and service

• All applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Your application packet should include the following:

• LLC online scholarship application.

• Essay, 500 to 1000 words max. Describe your personal and professional goals and how those goals will be used to improve the overall Leather, BDSM, Fetish, and Kink communities across local and global levels. The essay may include information such as your reasons for pursuing your area of study, service related activities, employment experience, and/or accomplishments not otherwise noted on this application.

• A list of scholastic honors, awards, and extracurricular activities (campus and community), including offices held.

• A letter from your academic program adviser or registrar's office verifying enrollment.

• Bursar office info must be included: school name, student ID number, and school mailing address.

RECIPIENT(S) WILL RECEIVE:

Scholarship Award Fund amounts vary by program.

• Scholarship Award Funds, which will be sent directly to the School Bursar's Office to be applied to their student account. 

• A Special Guest Registration Package and 1 Guest Pass to attend the full LLC Conference Weekend. (Recipients and their +1 Guest must register in advance to attend the conference.)

• One Friday Night Room Accommodation at the host hotel to attend the LLC Opening Ceremonies.

EXPECTATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENTS:

Scholarship Recipient(s) must agree to the following award requirements:

• Send an email to the LLC Scholarship Chairperson communicating acceptance of the award.

• Send an email to the LLC Scholarship Chairperson confirming your conference registration.

• Attend the Friday Newcomer Meeting onsite to learn about the conference and attend a minimum of two classes over the course of the conference, including attendance at Friday Night Opening Ceremonies for award recipient announcements.

• Create a 5 minute video presentation summarizing your experience as a LLC Scholarship Award Recipient, describing how it has contributed towards meeting your personal, professional, and community related goals, including how those goals will be used to improve the Leather/BDSM/Fetish/Kink communities across local and global levels. Video submission to the Scholarship Chairperson are expected within 30 days of LLC conference attendance.

• In acceptance of the Scholarship Award, applicants grant LLC free and irrevocable right to use, reproduce, and distribute any/all submitted content on LLC platforms for any purpose related to the furthering of LLC's mission in perpetuity; including but not limited to: promotional materials, educational resources, sponsorship, historical archives, and public outreach. The content will be utilized in a manner that upholds the integrity and intention of the original submission, ensuring that the applicant's contributions help further our cause and reach a wider audience.
